🟡 DependsE-Ink displays — used by Kindle and Kobo — show dead pixels as permanently dark specks that are most visible on a white background. Unlike LCD panels, E-Ink pixels cannot be unstuck by rapid colour cycling. If you spot a defect, it's almost always a manufacturing fault.
